Director
Broke as a Joke is
directed by Patrick Hurd. Patrick was born and raised in Indianapolis,
Indiana and knew he wanted to make films by the age of five -
specifically action films. By his teens, his love of action sequences
transitioned into a passion for storytelling.
Following high school, he
studied film production in college and prepared for his move to Los
Angeles, where he began to work on CG visual effects for feature films.
Credits include: X-Men 2,
Serenity, The Chronicles
of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, Elf, Friday Night Lights,
and The Chronicles of
Riddick.
After a while, he moved on to videogame
development direction on Medal
of Honor Airborne and Command
& Conquer 3, but ultimately returned to feature
films. He recently wrapped as VFX production supervisor on Fast & Furious.
At the same time, he created his own production company, Filofilm
Pictures, through which he wrote, directed and produced the short
film The Living Sword and the web series Racine, California.
